Colorful Abstract Watercolors for Joyful Spaces

I am deeply in love with abstract art. I am also a recovering perfectionist and have found that watercolor painting helps me let go and go with the flow. I am not in full control of the paint, paper and water. It’s more of a dance that we do together. Painting abstracts also affords me a range of expression from subtly suggesting a subject to going wild with pure abstraction. I will get a spark of inspiration seeing a vase of flowers or even a pile of construction materials. Once I decide on the composition and colors, I want to see the idea come to life. I love getting lost in my process adding layers of varying colors and values of paint. After hours of decisions made, I am left with a one of a kind piece. Nothing makes me happier than creating something unique that doesn't exist until I hover over a piece of paper. I need to create beauty in order to feel whole, to feel alive.
